You’ve made it to the fourth session—an important milestone in your healing journey. At this stage, we introduce new tools to help you dive deeper into relaxation and emotional clarity. This visit is all about “Meeting the Mentor”—the inner wisdom and healing potential that already lives within you.
We’ll begin to explore the power of deep meditative states, understanding how the brain naturally enters these states to support recovery. Through acupuncture, guided breathwork, and nourishing practices, we’ll help you connect with your body and mind on a whole new level.
What We Did Today
🧠 Exploring Deep Meditative States
In today’s visit, our aim is to start introducing you to theta and even gamma wave states—brain states associated with creativity, deep healing, insight, and emotional release.
You may have already experienced (or will experience):
Tingling in your hands or feet
Seeing colors behind closed eyes
A deep sense of calm or connection
These signs mean your brain is entering a state where stress dissolves and healing begins–entering into the parasympathetic state. The mind becomes more receptive to new possibilities, while the body releases pain, tension, and old patterns.
🌀 Acupuncture Treatment
We used two acupuncture points to support receptivity and grounding:
GB34 (Yanglingquan) – Helps relax tendons and muscles, improving flow and flexibility.
KI3 (Taixi) – Strengthens Kidney energy and helps ground the body emotionally and physically.
These points encourage your body to settle into a relaxed, open state—an ideal setting for meditation and breathwork.
🧘 Guided Meditation: Body Scan with Breathwork (20 min)
This practice combines mindful body awareness with deep breathing. The goal is to guide your brain into alpha and theta states, activating your body’s self-healing systems.

📝 Homework Overview
Healing happens between visits. Your three-part homework will continue what we started today.
And remember: training your brain to reach deeper states like theta or delta takes time and consistent practice. Just like learning a musical instrument or new language, the more you practice, the easier it becomes. Be patient with yourself—the progress is happening even if it’s subtle at first.
1. 🌙 Evening Meditation: Body Scan + Breathwork
Why: Trains the brain to enter deep, healing brainwave states. Reduces stress and improves resilience.
How:
Practice 15–20 minutes before bed
Use the meditation video from today or the link above
Allow your breath and awareness to guide you into rest and stillness
2. 💪 Movement Therapy: Light Strength Training
Why: Supports circulation, increases energy, and balances nervous system activity.
How:
Try 2–3 sessions this week
Start simple: Let your body dictate what you can do. If you have any pain, stop and retry the next day. Slow and steady win the race!

3. 🍵 Nutrition: Turmeric + Black Pepper
Why: Curcumin in turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory; black pepper increases its absorption.
How:
Add turmeric + black pepper to soups, smoothies, or stir-fries
Try this Golden Milk recipe before bed:
Golden Milk Recipe
1 cup almond milk (or any milk)
1 tsp turmeric powder
¼ tsp cinnamon
Pinch of black pepper
Optional: honey or maple syrup (though both of this counts as sugar, so limit if possible)
Warm over low heat. Stir and enjoy!
🧠 Understanding Brainwave States
Our brains cycle through various brainwave frequencies during the day and night, and meditation allows us to access these states intentionally.
| Brainwave | State | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Alpha | Calm focus | Relaxed, mindful—gateway to deeper states |
| Theta | Deep healing | Vivid imagery, creativity, reduced pain awareness |
| Delta | Restoration | Cellular repair, deep sleep–like conscious rest |
| Gamma | Insight | High awareness, clarity, connection, transcendence |
Meditation gives us a window into these states—but it takes consistent practice to access them reliably. Even if you don’t feel you’re “there” yet, showing up to your practice daily creates the conditions for transformation. You’re building new neural pathways every time you meditate.
